As a Specialist Radiation Therapist, you'll have the opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice with leadership, innovation, and service development, making a meaningful difference to the lives of patients receiving radiation therapy. Working collaboratively with senior Radiation Therapy leaders and the multidisciplinary team, you'll help shape the future of cancer care by championing best practice and driving continuous improvement. In this specialist role, you'll lead the development and implementation of emerging techniques and technologies within your area of expertise, providing expert clinical guidance and supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care. You'll be recognised as a trusted subject matter expert, building strong partnerships across the service, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to service innovation to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients and whānau. About the Team / Service / Location Our Radiation Therapy Department, based at Auckland City Hospital, is one of the largest single‑site departments in Australasia, treating over 3,000 new patients annually. The service is supported by 20 Radiation Oncologists, along with Medical Physics and Nursing teams who work collaboratively to deliver outstanding care. You'll be based within one of our treatment planning/dosimetry teams with an opportunity to work with a range of advanced technology including: RayStation planning system ARIA and MOSAIQ patient management systems 3 Varian TrueBeams with Hypersight and AlignRT 2 Elekta Versa HD Linacs with Catalyst 1 Varian ix series Linac with OBI, CBCT, VMAT/IMRT capability Siemens Somatom Edge Plus with Sentinel motion management system Siemens Somatom X.Cite with Sentinel and RGSC motion management systems Brachytherapy and Superficial treatment units For more information on living and working in Auckland, click here. About You To be considered for this position, you will have a recognised tertiary qualification in Radiation therapy with MRTB registration and a valid APC.
