Mō te Tūranga | About the role As a Graphic Designer within ASB’s Content team, you’ll help bring our marketing strategies to life through thoughtful, high-quality visual design. Working across campaigns, social content, editorial storytelling, sponsorships, digital experiences and internal initiatives, you’ll collaborate from the early stages of a project, helping to shape creative ideas before crafting them into engaging customer experiences. This is much more than creating individual assets. You’ll have the opportunity to develop visual concepts and design systems that work across multiple channels, ensuring every piece of work is strategically grounded, beautifully executed and unmistakably ASB. You’ll know that great design can happen within constraints. Rather than seeing brand guidelines as boundaries, you’ll see them as a platform for creativity, using them to inspire fresh thinking and distinctive ideas. From social campaigns and thought leadership to presentations, events, digital content and emerging channels, you’ll create work that connects with audiences, strengthens our brand and helps our stories travel further. You’ll continually look for opportunities to elevate the quality of our work, challenge conventional thinking and contribute fresh creative ideas that help ASB stand out in a competitive market. Ō pūkenga | About you You’re a naturally curious designer who enjoys solving problems as much as creating beautiful work. You don’t just ask “what does this need to look like?”, you ask “what’s the best way to communicate this idea?”. You bring strong creative instincts, excellent craft and the confidence to contribute ideas from the early stages of a project. You’re collaborative, adaptable and excited by the opportunity to work across a wide variety of content, campaigns and platforms. Ideally, You’ll Bring A portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design across digital, social and brand communications. The ability to develop multiple creative concepts before moving to execution. Strong typography, layout, composition and visual storytelling skills. Experience translating strategic objectives into engaging, customer-focused creative work. A collaborative mindset and the confidence to contribute ideas within cross-functional teams. Experience developing design systems that work consistently across multiple channels and touchpoints. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing beautifully crafted work. Confidence in presenting and explaining your creative thinking to stakeholders. The ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a consistently high standard of work. Proficiency across Adobe Creative Cloud, with experience preparing creative for digital and social channels. Experience working within an agency, publisher or in-house creative team is highly regarded. Motion design, illustration, photography or AI-assisted creative workflows would also be advantageous but are not essential. Above all, we’re looking for someone with exceptional creative judgement.
