Quantity Surveyor

Full time permanent Quantity Surveyor requires for our busy company in Auckland. The minimum work hour will be 30 hours per week and maximum will be 45 hours per week. The minimum wage is $35.00 ph and maximum wages will be $50.00ph based on experience. Candidate should pass a background check. New Zealand citizen or resident will be preferable. Duties:

The major duties, tasks, and responsibilities that typically make up the quantity surveyor job description are shown below:

 Review drawing and specification.

 Examining and reviewing or assessing construction plans and preparing Bill of

Quantities (BOQ)

 Liaising and working collaboratively with site managers, clients, contractors,

subcontractors, and stakeholders

 Gathering and preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and

other necessary and relevant documents and forwarding them to the appropriate

management or personnel

 Providing advice, recommendations, and suggestions to managers and clients on

innovative improvements and new strategies

 Documenting relevant changes in design and updating budgets when required

 Building and maintaining healthy and professional relationships with internal and

external stakeholders

 Traveling from the office to various sites when required

 Handling the payment of workers, vendors, and subcontractors

 Consult with clients to understand their requirements

 Conduct feasibility studies to vet proposed projects

 Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour, timeframes

 Assist to prepare tender packages or documentation and contracts

 Manage risk, value engineering and cost control measures

 Analyse repair/maintenance costs

 Negotiate contracts and schedules

 Oversee and value subcontractors' work for payments

 Continually assess value for the client's investment

 Analyse outcomes and provide budget/progress reports

 Advise on claims, disputes and any contractual issues

You can expect a typical 37-40 hour work week, split between offices, client sites and construction locations as needed. Staying up to date on building codes and safety protocols is essential. Specialisations like residential, retail, sports venues and more are also options.
