The Company: Our client, a highly respected organisation, provides funding support to a wide range of non-profit groups, charities, welfare agencies, and cultural and educational organisations. Among the many beneficiaries of their funding are the New Zealand Coastguard, Starship Foundation, Canteen Aotearoa, and St Johns. The Role: This is an important role within the Foundation and plays a key part in supporting almost every aspect of the grants management function. The role involves supporting the Grants Administration, Audit and Accounts teams, building relationships with gaming partner venues, site visits to provide training and support, PA support, and coordinating a range of projects. This role will suit someone who enjoys a busy position with plenty of variety—someone who is equally happy getting into the nitty gritty and detail of grants administration as they are getting out to visit venues, support staff, and build meaningful partnerships. You'll be part of a passionate, dedicated team based in Epsom, helping to manage grant funding that directly supports community programmes. Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to) – Provide PA support to a busy Chief Executive. Manage a range of projects, from smaller initiatives through to more complex assignments. Assist the Grants Administration and Audit team, providing support and expertise as required. Review grant applications to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and legislative requirements. Prepare reports on key grant variables. (Advanced Excel skills are essential). Prepare and manage gaming licence applications and renewals. Conduct venue visits, build strong relationships with venue managers and staff, and provide ongoing support. Ensure venues comply with safe and responsible gaming practices. Provide onsite training to ensure staff can identify and appropriately respond to potential problem gamblers. Provide backup support to the accounts function. About you: Previous experience in a grants function or a related role such as Personal Assistant, client relationship management, fundraising, or a similar administrative position. An upbeat, personality, able to engage effectively with different people, and maintain positive, constructive relationships A genuine enjoyment of balancing office-based administration with face-to-face stakeholder engagement. Strong financial, numerical, and analytical skills. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. A strong aptitude for administration. Confidence using the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel. Excellent people and customer service skills. A results-oriented approach, with strong organisational and planning abilities. A proactive approach to troubleshooting and overcoming challenges.
