Car Detailer
Job Description
Motorcom is a used cardealership with 3 locations around New Zealand. Our Auckland location is in need of dedicated Car Detailers, with good attention to detail, and who love their job.
\nWe are looking 2x Car Detailers to join us on a full-time and permanent basis.
\nThe positions guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week between Monday to Sunday. You would be required to 5 days a week including weekends.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nExterior Cleaning - Wash and clean the outside of vehicles, making sure to include the wheels, tires, and underbody. Apply wax and polish to maintain the shine and protect the paint.
\nInterior Cleaning - Vacuum seats, carpets, and mats thoroughly. Clean windows, dashboards, door panels, and other interior surfaces. Use fabric cleaners or shampoo where needed to remove stains and refresh upholstery.
\nDetailing - Use specific products to enhance and protect both interior and exterior surfaces. Focus on the finer details that make a vehicle look its best.
\nMinor Cosmetic Work - Take care of small imperfections like surface scratches or light scuffs. Help improve the overall appearance of the vehicle before sale or handover.
\nVehicle Preparation - Make sure vehicles are fully cleaned and presentable for customer pick-up, showroom display, or delivery. Do final checks to ensure everything meets company standards.
\nCustomer Interaction - Speak with customers in a friendly and professional way. Handle any questions or complaints calmly and efficiently.
\nVehicle Movement - Occasionally drive or move cars between locations for cleaning, servicing, or customer delivery.
Minimum Requirements

- Minimum 6 months work experience as a car detailer/car groomer. \n
- Full New Zealand Drivers Licence required. \n
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. \n
Experience required

- Good with Tools & Products: Comfortable using vacuums, pressure washers, steam cleaners, polishers, and cleaning products. \n
- Vehicle Care Knowledge : Understand different types of materials (leather, vinyl, plastic, etc.) and how to treat them properly \n
- Strong Attention to Detai l: Take pride in doing the job right and spotting things others might miss \n
- Good Time Management : Able to work under pressure and stick to deadlines, especially on busy days \n
- Physically Capable : The job often involves standing, bending, and working in hot or cold weather \n
- People Skills : Able to communicate clearly with customers and work well as part of a team. \n
