By working collaboratively, we can enhance our ability to withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptive events while supporting safer and more resilient communities. We are seeking a Senior Lifeline Utility Resilience Advisor to join Auckland Council's Natural Hazards team. You will provide specialist advice on lifeline utility resilience, infrastructure interdependencies and natural hazard risks. Your mahi will help the council, Auckland Emergency Management (AEM), and essential infrastructure providers make informed decisions that strengthen resilience across the region. This role includes three key elements: ensuring the Auckland Lifelines Group (ALG) is effectively building resilience for lifeline utilities ensuring AEM has an effective Lifeline Utility Coordinator function in emergency events providing advice about lifeline resilience across the council You can expect to work on: leading the coordination of the ALG and delivering a diverse programme of resilience initiatives, projects and partnerships that improve our understanding of the vulnerability from natural hazard across Auckland's critical infrastructure sectors collaborating and facilitating workshops with lifeline utilities, AEM and government stakeholders on resilience building initiatives translating technical hazard and resilience information into practical guidance for decision-makers engaging and training lifeline utility coordinators, developing procedures and protocols for emergency response and responding in emergency situations You are an experienced resilience, infrastructure or emergency management professional who enjoys working across organisations to bring people together, continuously improving and achieving shared outcomes. In addition, we will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements: relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Emergency Management, Infrastructure and Asset Management, or a related field extensive experience leading programmes and projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-sector collaboration strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships knowledge of lifeline utility resilience, infrastructure interdependencies and emergency management arrangements We still encourage you to apply if you have some but not all these requirements.
