Bargain Chemist is one of New Zealand's fastest-growingretail pharmacy groups, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, anddetail-oriented HR Assistant to join our Head Office team. This is a newly created role within our HR function,designed to provide essential administrative support to our HR Manager and HRAdministrator. You will gain exposure to a wide range of HR activities whilehelping ensure our people processes run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoysadministration, is passionate about supporting people, and wants to developtheir career in HR. You will work closely with HR, Payroll, hiring managers,candidates, and employees, helping to coordinate important HR processesthroughout the employee lifecycle. The position is offered as a part-time, fixed-term contractfor six months (20+ hours per week). As our business continues to grow, thereis genuine potential for the role to increase in hours and transition into apermanent position. Key Responsibilities Provideday-to-day administrative support to the HR Manager and HR Administrator. Prepareemployment agreements, contract variations, letters, and other HRdocumentation. Assistwith onboarding new employees, including preparing documentation,onboarding packs, and ensuring records are completed accurately. Maintainaccurate employee records, HR databases, and personnel files. Coordinatecommunication between HR, Payroll, hiring managers, candidates, andemployees to ensure information is accurate, timely, and complete. Supportpayroll processes by ensuring employee documentation, changes, and updatesare provided accurately and within required deadlines. Assistwith recruitment administration, including advertising vacancies,scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and completingreference checks. Monitorthe HR inbox and respond to routine employee and manager enquiries. PrepareHR reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence. Maintaintraining records, compliance documentation, and employee files. Coordinatereminders for probation reviews, 30-60-90 day reviews, performancereviews, and other key employee milestones. Assistwith organising interviews, meetings, training sessions, and other HRactivities. Supportcontinuous improvement of HR administrative processes, templates, anddocument management. About You We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable,enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering accurate andhigh-quality administrative support. Ideally, you will have: Previousadministration experience in a busy environment. Agenuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources Strongattention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Excellentorganisational and time management skills. Strongwritten and verbal communication skills. IntermediateMicrosoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Abilityto manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Aproactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of ateam. Confidencecommunicating with different stakeholders across the business. Experiencein HR administration or Payroll administration would be a bonus but isnot essential.
