Job Description We currently have an amazing career opportunity for committed and self-motivatedpeople to join our Company Meat Inspection (CMI) team at our Malvern processingfacility near Rolleston, Christchurch to help get NZ Beef and Lamb from our backyardto customers plates. As one of our Company Meat Inspectors you are responsible for carrying out post-mortem inspection of dressed carcasses and their parts to identify conditions that may affect food safety standards. You will also ensure that the Companies supply of meat complies with regulations set by the Ministry of Primary Industries and other relevant industry bodies. The role involves inspecting animals after slaughter ensuring that the Company meets all regulations for processing and cleanliness, along with monitoring and maintaining accurate recording of industry data. This means you will need to check the quality and safety of any Company product and identify diseases and defects. Additionally, a key part of this role is to communicate the quality and safety of the product to the Company. To be successful in this role you will need the following key personal skills: Attention to detail and excellent organisation. Being a friendly, approachable team-player. A great work ethic and can-do attitude. A proven track record of being reliable and punctual. Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised. Able to work shift work patterns with varying start and finish times. Hours of work vary from 30 – 60 hours per week with paid rates ranging from $33.84 -$40.30 per hour dependent on assigned task, skill and experience, plus any applicable allowances and overtime. Qualifications For this specialist positions applicants must hold the NZQA Level Four Certificate inAnimal Examination to be considered. We periodically provide opportunities to train towards this position so if you are interested in working towards becoming a trained Company Meat Inspector, we encourage you to join us as an entry level meat process worker where no previous experience is needed.
