Within this, the External Strategy and Programmes team plays a key role in in translating strategy into coordinated, system-wide programmes that deliver meaningful outcomes across the maritime sector. Te tūnga | The role Maritime NZ is undergoing a period of change to strengthen its sustainability and future focus. Following an organisational redesign, we are recruiting into a number of newly shaped roles that support our shift toward more efficient, digitally enabled ways of working, helping position us for the future. As Programme Coordinator, you’ll help ensure complex programmes are well planned, governed and running effectively. Working closely with Programme Leads and Governance Groups, you'll maintain programme plans, coordinate reporting, monitor risks and dependencies, and support informed decision-making across multiple initiatives. You’ll act as a central point of coordination, helping teams stay connected, organised and focused on delivering outcomes. Key areas of focus include: Developing and maintaining integrated programme plans, schedules and registers Supporting programme monitoring, reporting and performance tracking Maintaining risk, issue, action, decision and dependency registers Preparing programme status reports, governance papers and performance insights Coordinating governance forums, meetings and reporting processes Supporting prioritisation and alignment across programme activities and workstreams Managing programme documentation and information to ensure accuracy and accessibility Assisting with budget tracking, forecasting and resource coordination Identifying opportunities to improve programme planning, governance and reporting practices Supporting continuous improvement across programme delivery and coordination activities This role plays an important part in ensuring programmes are well coordinated, information flows effectively, and delivery remains aligned with organisational priorities. You’re an organised and proactive programme professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex work. You have strong attention to detail, can manage competing priorities, and build effective relationships across diverse teams. You will bring: Experience in programme planning, coordination or programme office support roles Experience supporting governance, reporting, monitoring and delivery activities Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Experience maintaining programme plans, registers and documentation Strong analytical capability and the ability to identify risks, trends and opportunities Experience coordinating stakeholder engagement and information flows across teams Proficiency using programme management tools and the Microsoft Office suite Strong written and verbal communication skills A continuous improvement mindset and ability to enhance processes and ways of working High attention to detail and strong administrative discipline Maritime NZ recognises and respects te Tiriti o Waitangi and we are committed to working with Māori to build strong, meaningful and enduring relationships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
