Job Description
Wilson Contractors is a well-established, locally owned civil construction company delivering infrastructure, drainage, roading, earthworks, and three waters projects throughout Central Otago, Queenstown Lakes, and Southland.
\nDue to retirement, we are seeking an experienced Drainlayer Foreman to lead drainage and three waters crews on a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the Queenstown Lakes District .
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who enjoys working in a hands-on role while mentoring and developing their team.
\nAbout the Role
\nAs Drainlayer Foreman, you will be responsible for:
\n- \n
- Leading drainage crews on site \n
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification \n
- Installing and maintaining drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure \n
- Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers \n
- Upholding quality assurance, environmental, and health and safety standards \n
- Support developing crew members \n
- Maintaining accurate site records and documentation \n
What We're Looking For
\nThe successful applicant will have:
\nEssential
\n- \n
- Proven experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand, or Senior Drainlayer within the New Zealand civil construction industry \n
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand drainage, water reticulation, and civil construction standards \n
- \n
Either:
\n- \n
- \n
New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) Level 4 with Drinking Water strand , or
\n - \n
Certified Drainlayer registration
\n
\n - \n
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills \n
- A strong commitment to health and safety \n
- The ability to read plans and manage resources effectively \n
- Current drivers licence \n
Highly Desirable
\n- \n
- Current Class 2 New Zealand driver's licence \n
- W, T, and R endorsements \n
- Confined Space certification \n
- STMS qualification \n
- First Aid certification \n
- Additional civil construction qualifications \n
