This is a casual role, work offered would be within our school and in ourTamariki community. The people wesupport have intellectual disabilities and a range of othercomplexities.We are looking for Casual Teacher Aides to support our Classroom Teacher andStudents, and Casual Support Workers to work in our Tamariki houses. The idealperson for this role will display patience, maturity and integrity. This roleis working casually where needed. You will beworking alongside young people with intellectual disabilities with the beliefthat they can do anything and can learn to be able and independent. Idealapplicants will have experience supporting learning and development programsfor tamariki who have diverse learning needs. To besuccessful in this role you will: Havethe abilities to both display empathy and respect and enable people toachieve their goals and plans Havegood communication skills. Be able to communicate clearly andappropriately with a range of people and be able to maintain accuraterecords. Betrustworthy and have high ethical standards and be able to respectconfidentiality and privacy. Havea mature attitude and good interpersonal skills; this includes beingpractical and 'down to earth' about the nature of the role, and being ableto work with people who may have high support needs and challengingbehaviour, in a calm and professional manner. Beable to manage the physical and emotional aspects of the role. Previousexperience and/or training would be an advantage, but a positive attitudeand approach, and a willingness to learn is important.
