About the Role As an Elective Booking Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients receive timely access to outpatient appointments, surgical procedures, and elective services. Working within a busy administration environment, you will coordinate bookings, manage waiting lists, liaise with clinical teams, and maintain accurate patient information to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a passion for customer service. You'll work closely with a wide range of healthcare professionals while helping patients navigate their healthcare journey, ensuring services run efficiently and patients receive the care they need at the right time. About the Team/Service/ Location Our Outpatient and Surgical Services Administration Team is dedicated to supporting the smooth delivery of elective healthcare services across Hawke's Bay. We are a collaborative and supportive team focused on providing excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of data quality, and improving access to care for our community. About you As an Elective Booking Coordinator, you will bring: Strong administrative, data entry, and computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, whānau, and healthcare professionals. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work accurately under pressure, and maintain attention to detail. A positive, flexible, and solutions-focused approach to work. A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural responsiveness, and delivering equitable health outcomes. Previous booking and scheduling experience. Experience working within the health sector. Knowledge of patient management systems and elective services processes.
