Using a “do with, not for” approach, you’ll encourage choice, participation, and self-determination while supporting people with everyday living, community participation, personal wellbeing, and meaningful relationships. Support May Include Assisting with daily living, household tasks, meal preparation, and personal care Encouraging independence and community participation Supporting emotional wellbeing using Positive Behaviour Support approaches Building life skills and confidence Working collaboratively with whānau, colleagues, and other professionals Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting individual plans Our Hawke’s Bay residential services operate across a 24/7 roster, including weekends, sleepovers, wakeovers, and public holidays. What You Will Bring We’re looking for people who are passionate about making a positive difference and who genuinely believe disabled people should have the same opportunities as everyone else. Essential Full New Zealand Driver Licence NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or above) or equivalent Strong understanding of disability, mental health, and Positive Behaviour Support Commitment to a person-directed “do with, not for” approach Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Confidence using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team You’ll also bring empathy, resilience, initiative, and a commitment to creating inclusive environments where people can thrive.
