Read on! About the role We are seeking a Gardener’s Assistants to join our village team working at Dannemora Gardens in East Tamaki. This village has a great resident community and as part of the gardening team you will help maintain the gardens for our residents and visitors to enjoy. The role is working Tuesday to Friday – 6 hours per day = 24 hrs week. As an experienced gardener, some of the responsibilities you will oversee include: Establishing new planting as required to maintain standard of gardens (plants, trees etc.), making sure the right plants are put in the right area to maintain ascetics, seasonal changes and future management. Utilizing the garden maintenance feedback and work with the Gardening team to maintain communication with the village team and residents around planned works. Actioning planned maintenance programs Maintenance of gardening equipment and ensuring it is used as per instructions and staff are trained in appropriate use of equipment. About you This is a physical role where you are part of a passionate team keeping our village gardens flourishing and community areas vibrant. You'll be confident in your gardening abilities and able to communicate with a range of people. Proven experience as a Gardener and have a passion for gardening and ground maintenance Thorough knowledge of gardening and landscaping methods Hold and maintain a clean and valid New Zealand driver's license. You'll be fit as you'll undertake physical work and need to operate garden machinery.
