Demi Chef (Pastry) - Full Time Please note that you must already have work rights in New Zealand to be considered for this role We are looking for a passionate and hardworking full-time Demi Chef to join our Pastry team.Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will support the Pastry Chef de Partie with the daily preparation, presentation and display of pastry items. You will help maintain high standards of quality, consistency, cleanliness and food safety across the pastry kitchen.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with pastry experience who is looking to continue developing their skills within the fast-paced environment of New Zealand’s largest hotel. Your Responsibilities Will Include Preparing, presenting and displaying a variety of pastry and dessert items Supporting the Pastry Chef de Partie with daily production requirements Checking stock and preparing ingredients for the following day Maintaining high standards of presentation, flavour and consistency Ensuring the pastry kitchen and equipment remain clean, organised and hygienic Following food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients and finished products Supporting stock control and helping minimise food waste Using kitchen equipment safely and correctly Assisting other areas of the kitchen when required Responding promptly to guest requests and dietary requirements Contributing to the hotel’s sustainability and waste-management initiatives The position also supports safe food production, correct chemical disposal, recycling and reducing unnecessary food and resource waste.
