Automation Engineer

Oji FibreSolutions is New Zealand's leading manufacturer of pulp, paper and suppliers ofpackaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country.Our Paper Bag business based in Penrose, Auckland designs and producesmulti-wall bags for the Dairy, Cement, Flour and Sugar industries throughoutthe country and into offshore markets. Reportingto the Engineering Manager, this role will plan and design automation solutionsfor Oji Fibre Solutions manufacturing process at our Paper Bag site. Youwill be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements, regardingprocess and automation ensuring the efficient and uninterrupted operation ofthe manufacturing equipment and process. This challenging role offersplenty of opportunities to make a real impact and requires strong communicationskills in addition to your technical skills. The Idealcandidate will possess the following: Minimum 3 years+ experience in Automation/Electrical Engineeringina manufacturing environment Experience with the following: Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron PLCs,Manufacturing computer-based systems and Kawasaki robots Experience in Multiple different drives such Siemens, Omron Project management experience with emphasis on continuousimprovement Self-motivated and driven Tertiary Qualifications are essential (Degree in ElectricalEngineering is preferred) High computer literacy (MS Suite, databases) Electrical experience preferred Functional Safety experience preferred Yourresponsibilities include: Implement electrical engineering/automation solutions to improve productquality, reduce machine downtime and improve machine speed. Implement and support manufacturing computer systems used for thecapture and reporting of manufacturing metrics. TechnicalSupport: Provide support for the existing electrical engineering equipmentused on site. This includes OEMequipment and interfacing with suppliers to provide on-site technicalsupport.
