Casual Application Closes 29 Aug 2026 Wellington - Levin Recreational Therapist Recreation Officer | Casual About The Role Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging recreation programmes that support residents' wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. Promote the Eden Alternative philosophy by creating meaningful opportunities that reduce boredom, helplessness, and loneliness. Develop individual recreation plans and ensure residents have access to enjoyable activities and social engagement opportunities. Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and the wider care team to create a vibrant community environment. Maintain accurate records, follow organisational policies, and support health, safety, and quality standards. About You Hold a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing (or higher) or Level 4 Diversional Therapy You are flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends You are confident using a range of technology platforms and systems, with the ability to learn new applications quickly and accurately. You have a genuine passion for working with older people and supporting meaningful ageing experiences. You are creative, energetic, and enjoy facilitating a wide range of recreational and social activities. You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a friendly and positive approach. Currently based in Levin. Hold the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
