Social Sports Coordinator

Are you energetic, highly organised, and passionate about community and grassroots sports? Wakatipu High School is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable independent contractor to run our new Social Sports Program initiative on Friday afternoons. This programme has been developed in order to strengthen the range of opportunities for students to participate in sport in what is a low-cost, local, and relatively low commitment model with a focus on our school value of kotahitanga, inclusion. All sports will be self-officiated where possible. Your job isn’t to referee; it’s to facilitate a welcoming atmosphere, encourage rolling substitutions, and ensure teams are balanced out so everyone enjoys their Friday afternoon. This is an independent contractor position for 5 hours per week, strictly during school term-times only from middle of Term 3 until end of Term 4, 2026. The successful applicant must handle their own tax obligations and will report directly to the WHS Sports Department. Hourly rate: $30 - $35 per hour based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
