About the Role We are seeking an Intensive Care (ICU) Registrar to join our Intensive Care Unit here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital commencing as soon as possible. Our ICU is accredited as a C12 unit under the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) training program, with endorsements for General, Rural, and Paediatric training. We actively support CICM candidates, helping them prepare for Part 1 and Part 2 exams, and have a history of trainees successfully completing their CICM research projects during their time with us. Non-training registrars have also published research projects in peer-reviewed journals. All registrars have opportunities to participate in quality improvement activities and research projects that contribute to the continued development of the service. About the Team/Service/ Location The successful candidate would join a team of 14 Registrars and a diverse group of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals.Our ICU provides critical care for both adult and paediatric patients, managing a wide range of complex cases. The service also undertakes patient retrievals and inter-hospital transfers within Hawkes Bay and to tertiary referral centres, offering opportunities to participate in both rotary wing and road transfers.
