Hamilton City and Waikato District Councils have formed a publicly owned, Council-controlled Organisation (CCO) to deliver water services across Hamilton city and Waikato district. The company is called IAWAI - Flowing Waters and will take over the provision of water services from 1 July 2026. This transition will occur in stages such as the current Watercare contract for Waikato District Council transferring to the CCO on 1 July 2026. As our Maintenance Contracts Specialist, you'll play a key role in providing commercial and contract management expertise across the full contract lifecycle. From contract implementation through to performance monitoring and continuous improvement, you'll help ensure our contracts deliver great outcomes, risks are well managed, and value for money is achieved. Working closely with our Maintenance Delivery, Operations and Process teams, suppliers, and a wide range of internal stakeholders, you'll be the trusted link between commercial objectives and operational success. You'll support effective contract governance, drive supplier performance, foster positive working relationships, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery and outcomes. Qualifications Oo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experience 3-5 years+ experience in contract documentation preparation and tender evaluation. Strong MSQA experience and general advice & support for small, medium and large-scale infrastructure projects. Previous experience in a Contract Manager/Procurement/Facilities role, ideally with a Tertiary level qualification in Infrastructure Understanding and experience of programme, financial and risk management. Experience of supporting or directly managing small, medium and / or large scale (million-dollar+) delivery projects. Experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders. The ability to work hard while understanding balancing that with positive team culture and collegiality. A team player is a must!
