Permanent, Part-time (30 hours per week) We’re excited to be opening a brand-new shop in New Lynn and are looking for a dedicated, experienced driver to help bring it to life. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key part in our new venture while also supporting three shops across Auckland by collecting donated goods, helping to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, and ensuring our stores are well stocked and ready to serve the community. As a public-facing role, you will engage with local communities, visit people’s homes, and represent New Zealand Red Cross in a positive and professional manner. We are looking for someone who can connect with a wide range of people respectfully and with integrity. In this role you will: Safely and efficiently transport donated goods, furniture, internal transfers and other items to customers, shops and other locations across Auckland. Collect donated goods and deliver them to shops, ensuring all items meet quality guidelines. Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate the delivery vehicle safely and professionally. Provide reliable, timely and professional service to New Zealand Red Cross donors, customers and stores. Assist with maintaining stock levels by liaising with the Shop Manager or Delivery Scheduler to ensure timely stock delivery. Complete electrical test and tagging on electrical donated goods, with training provided. Check, maintain and regularly inspect the vehicle and equipment to ensure they are roadworthy, compliant and in good working order. Keep New Zealand Red Cross informed of any issues promptly. Follow New Zealand Red Cross health, safety and wellbeing guidelines and ensure health and safety requirements are observed at all times. Maintain the dignity and privacy of all customers at all times. Be a supportive and helpful team member, assisting with work in the shops as required. To be successful you will have: Have a full, clean New Zealand driver's license - Class 2 is preferred Be physically fit and have a good understanding of safe handling and storage of goods. Experience working with volunteers. Driving experience in a similar or relatable role Excellent communication and customer service skills. The abilityto mix and work with a wide range of people. Self-motivation and a positive, friendly approach.
