Registered Nurse - Children's Ward - Child Health Services - Whangarei Childrens Ward, Child Health Services, Whangarei Permanent full time role (1.0FTE) working 40 hours per week rostered shifts. About the Role As a Registered Nurse in the Childrens Ward at Whangarei Hospital you will make a meaningful difference every day by supporting tamariki and their whānau through vulnerable moments. Provide skilled family-focused nursing care through the application of clinical knowledge and theory to nursing practice. Demonstrate an ability to develop, evaluate and change care plans as required. Identify and interpret changes in the neonates/childs condition and respond appropriately. Competently performs clinical skills specific to area of practice. Demonstrates awareness of the neonatal/child/family/whanau cultural and spiritual beliefs and values. The Childrens Ward is located in the recently completed facilities in the Te Kotuku Building at Whangārei Hospital. This is a 22-bed paediatric ward and a 4-bed acute assessment unit providing care for medical, orthopaedic and surgical patients. The ward cares for children from birth through to their 16th birthday. About you New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate Minimum 1 year post graduate experience in a hospital setting Initiative and motivation Good team player and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Experience in neonates/child health is desirable but not essential to apply.
