Job Description
At Tonkin + Taylor, learning plays an important role in helping our people grow, develop their skills, and deliver great work across Aotearoa, Australia, and the Pacific.We are looking for a Learning + Development Coordinator who will be at the heart of how that learning is experienced, bringing care, energy, sound judgement, and exceptional follow-through to every interaction. This is more than an administration role. You will help the whole L+D team deliver at its best, make learning feel thoughtful and easy for our people, and improve the systems, communications, and moments that shape the learner journey. You’ll coordinate learning experiences from the first invitation through to follow-up, making sure each touchpoint is clear, welcoming, well organised, and designed around what people need. You will know the detail behind our programmes while keeping sight of the experience we want learners, facilitators, and stakeholders to have. Working across the Learning + Development team and with people throughout Tonkin + Taylor, you’ll create the conditions for others to succeed. That might mean helping an advisor turn an idea into a polished learner journey, giving a facilitator the information and confidence they need, responding thoughtfully when someone needs support, or spotting a recurring frustration and finding a better way. You will: Coordinate end-to-end learning experiences, including communications, registrations, scheduling, resources, venues, facilitators, evaluations, and follow-up Be a trusted first point of contact, giving learners, managers, and facilitatorstimely, thoughtful, and practical support Help L+D advisors and partners bring learning to life by creating structure,anticipatingneeds, and keeping delivery moving Set up and quality-check courses, resources, and communications so every learning touchpoint isaccurate, accessible, and engaging Build strong relationships with facilitators and support them to confidently deliver high-quality learning experiences Maintain reliable learning records, programme trackers, and reporting, following through on actions and raising risks early Troubleshoot learner and system issues, involving the right people when specialist support is needed Listen to feedback and notice patterns, using what you learn to simplify processes and improve the learner experience Bring a continuous improvement mindset,leaving the programmes, processes, and interactions you touch a little better than you found them You’ll be someone who takes pride in creating a great experience for others. You combine warmth with reliability, understand that small details matter, and can bring calm, momentum, and good judgement to an action-packed team. You're proactive, curious, and always thinking a step ahead. You ask the right questions, anticipate what's needed, and see things through to completion. We’relooking for someone with: Proven coordination experience in learning and development, HR, events, project support, customer experience, professional services, or another people-centred environment A strong service mindset and care for how others experience your work Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts without losing sight of people Clear, engaging written communication and confidence working with people atdifferent levels Confidence using digital systems, data, spreadsheets, and reporting, with the curiosity to learn new tools. Sound judgement about when to solve a problem, when to ask for help, and how to keep people informed A collaborative approach and genuine satisfaction in helping teammates and facilitators succeed Initiative and a practical eye for opportunities to simplify, improve, or add polish Experience with a Learning Management System would be useful, but it is not essential.What matters most is how you approach the work: with care, curiosity,high standards, and a determination to make learning easier and better for others.
