Account Payable Officer

Help keep the wheels turning behind the scenes. At Tonkin + Taylor, our Finance team plays a critical role in supporting the work we do across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific. We're looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our team and take ownership of our accounts payable function, helping ensure suppliers are paid accurately, queries are resolved promptly, and our financial processes run smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with detail, building positive relationships, and being a trusted part of a collaborative team. What will you be doing? Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate records Managing invoice approvals and following up outstanding approvals Responding to supplier queries and resolving issues Setting up and maintaining vendor information Supporting payment runs, including domestic and international payments Assisting with intercompany transactions and reconciliations Identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure timely and accurate financial administration We're looking for someone who: Has experience in accounts payable, finance administration, or a similar role Is highly organised with strong attention to detail Builds positive working relationships with both colleagues and suppliers Enjoys solving problems and finding practical solutions Is comfortable working with systems and learning new technology Can manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Takes ownership of their work and follows through on commitments Experience with ERP or finance systems would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
