Drive financial reporting and business performance Full-time leadership opportunity Our client is a well-established and respected organisation with a strong presence in their sector. They are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their Christchurch team in a full-time, permanent leadership position. This is a senior finance role responsible for overseeing the organisation’s finance function and providing strategic financial leadership to support ongoing growth and performance. Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will provide commercial insight, ensure robust financial governance, and lead the delivery of high-quality reporting, forecasting, and business improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Providing strategic leadership across the finance function, supporting and developing the wider team. Overseeing financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Partnering with senior leaders to provide commercial insights and support key business decisions. Ensuring strong financial controls, governance frameworks, and compliance standards are maintained. Leading continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems, processes, and reporting.Overseeing cash flow, treasury, capital management, and overall financial performance. Managing relationships with auditors, banking partners, and key external stakeholders. Supporting strategic projects and contributing to the future direction of the organisation. About you: You will be an experienced finance leader who brings strong technical capability, commercial judgement, and the confidence to influence at an executive level. Ideally, you will bring: CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent). Significant experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or similar leadership role. Proven experience leading finance teams and influencing senior stakeholders. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting, governance, and compliance. Advanced budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis capability. Experience improving systems, processes, and financial operations. A strategic yet hands‑on approach, with the ability to balance operational delivery with long-term business objectives.
