About the Role As the Sterile Sciences MaQS Tracking Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting patient safety by managing the tracking and traceability of reusable medical devices across their entire lifecycle. From decontamination and sterilisation through to storage and patient use, you will ensure accurate records are maintained, regulatory requirements are met, and instruments are available when needed to support clinical services. This is a diverse and specialised role that combines technical expertise, quality assurance and system coordination. You will oversee the MaQS Tracking System, coordinate instrument repairs, maintain traceability data, and work closely with Sterile Sciences, Theatre and Clinical Engineering teams to support the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services across Hawke's Bay. About the Team/Service/Location Our Sterile Sciences team provides a critical service that supports surgical and clinical care throughout Hawke's Bay. We are a collaborative, quality - focused team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of sterilisation practice, instrument management and patient safety. Based in Hastings, you will be part of a professional and supportive environment where your work directly contributes to positive patient outcomes and the smooth operation of clinical services. About you As a Sterile Sciences MaQS Tracking Coordinator, you will bring: A New Zealand Sterilising Technology Certificate Level 4 (or approved equivalent) and current professional registration. (Desired) Experience in sterile sciences, reusable medical device reprocessing, or instrument management. (Desired) Strong computer skills and confidence working with tracking systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
