About the Role\n

Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to infants and supporting families during some of their most important moments? We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and self-motivated neonatal nurses to join our team in Special Care Baby Unit at Hutt Hospital to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality neonatal care while partnering closely with parents and whānau.

Permanent part-time 0.4 FTE working 32 hours per fortnight

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the SCBU, you will:\n

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to infants requiring special care.
\n
• Support and educate parents and families throughout their baby's healthcare journey.
\n
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues.
\n
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
\n
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgement and excellent communication skills.
\n

About the Team/Service/Location\n

Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Hutt Hospital provides specialist care for preterm and unwell infants from 32 weeks' gestation, with a strong focus on family-centred care and timely, supported discharge planning. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team and work in partnership with babies and their families, supporting them throughout their care journey. Our SCBU is a busy, quality-driven, and patient-focused unit with a dynamic and supportive team environment. We use a multidisciplinary approach to deliver evidenced based care to achieve the best possible outcomes for our infants and their whānau. We are committed to fostering a supportive workplace culture and encouraging ongoing professional development.

About you\n

• Current NCNZ Registered Nurse Annual Practicing Certificate
\n
• Clinical Postgraduate (PG) Diploma with postgraduate clinical courses (e.g. pathophysiology, advanced assessment and pharmacology) provide essential clinical knowledge for the CNS role
\n
• Clinical expertise and experience aligning with Neonatal. Minimum three years practice in Neonatal setting
\n
• At Expert or senior level in Professional Development Recognition (PDRP)
\n
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and coaching skills
