Kitchenhand

We are looking for a solid, reliable full-time Kitchenhand to support our kitchen team at The Corner in Remuera, Auckland.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Keeping the kitchen clean: Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all food prep areas, the scullery, and the general kitchen environment.
\n
• Washing and sanitising: Ensure all cooking equipment, utensils, and serving items are kept clean and ready for use.
\n
• Managing supplies: Assist with moving, weighing, and checking stock deliveries and equipment.
\n
• Food preparation: Help our cooks/chefs by prepping ingredients and putting together salads, sandwiches, and savouries.
\n
• Plating and service: Get food and beverage trays packed and ready for service.
\n
• Cooking support: Take care of basic cooking tasks.
\n

You will demonstrate:

\n
• Basic kitchen knowledge: Understanding of food hygiene, kitchen safety, kitchen machinery/tools and sanitation practices.
\n
• Experience: 6 months experience in a commercial kitchen.
\n
• Reliability: Demonstrably punctual, honest, and hardworking.
\n
• Team-focused: Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting chefs and front-of-house staff.
\n
• Attitude: A proactive, "can-do" work ethic and a willingness to learn new tasks.
\n
• Passion: A genuine interest in the hospitality industry and a desire to build a long-term career in professional cooking.
\n
