ROLE SUMMARY For over ten years, ACG Tauranga has been the school of choice for families seeking a world-class private education in the Bay of Plenty. Located in Pyes Pa, our co-educational school provides a seamless learning journey from early childhood to pre-university. Sport is a significant part of the ACG Tauranga student experience. Our broad and growing programme supports students of all abilities, from those taking their first steps into school sport to those pursuing regional and national pathways. Students benefit from specialist coaching, committed volunteers and opportunities to participate, compete, lead, coach and officiate. We are seeking an organised, energetic and relationship-focused Sports Coordinator to support the day-to-day delivery and development of our sports programme. Reporting to the Head of Sport, this permanent part-time role will provide high-quality administration, logistics and communication support across school teams, clubs, events and tournaments. This role is primarily term time. The final hours and work pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate, with some flexibility required to support occasional fixtures, events or meetings outside normal school hours. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate registrations, entries, student charges fees, uniform and equipment requirements for all teams, clubs, indivual and event-based competitions. Prepare clear communications for students, families, staff, coaches and managers. Support logistics for fixtures, tournaments and school sporting events, including transport, permission forms and EOTC documentation. Attendance and supervision of students at regional sporting events. A willingness to attend occasional sporting events outside regular hours is also required. Maintain accurate participation, achievement, uniform and equipment records. Manage the Tauranga Sport inbox and support the Sports Website and Sports Instagram. Provide administrative support to coaches, managers, Heads of Code, volunteers and student leaders. Build positive relationships with clubs, sporting associations and regional sporting organisations. Support recognition, awards and celebration of student sporting achievement. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE Strong passion for sport with the energy and initiative to coordinate and promote a comprehensive school sports programme. Proven experience coordinating sports fixtures, events, and inter-school competition. Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including record keeping, team entries, and fee management. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with PE staff, coaches, students, parents, and external sporting bodies. Coaching experience, with expertise in one or multiple sports considered an advantage. Ability to manage sports equipment, including purchasing, distribution, and maintenance. Willingness to attend Saturday sports fixtures and participate in sports meetings as required. Eligibility to work in New Zealand (NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa) Qualifications Qualification in the field of sports management, coaching, recreation or fitness. Valid New Zealand drivers' licence (preferable). Additional Requirements Prepared to undertake a New Zealand police check prior to commencing the position. A willingness to attend school sporting events outside regular hours as required (e.g., sport training, matches, performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).
