Role Description This is a full-time, on‑site Electrician role based in Whakatane. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment for refrigeration and general electrical projects. Day‑to‑day tasks include wiring, testing, and commissioning systems, performing routine maintenance, diagnosing faults, and troubleshooting electrical issues. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, following safety regulations and company procedures, and completing job documentation accurately. The Electrician will work closely with other technicians, communicate with customers on‑site, and support efficient, high‑quality service delivery. Qualifications Strong knowledge of electricity and electrical engineering principles relevant to commercial and residential environments. Proficiency in electrical work, including installation, wiring, and commissioning of electrical systems. Demonstrated experience in maintenance & repair of electrical equipment and systems. Effective troubleshooting skills for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving electrical faults. Relevant electrical trade qualification, apprenticeship, or certification, with a current practicing license as required in New Zealand. Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, local regulations, and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
