Cashier (PT)

The Kootenay Co-op is looking for a part-time Cashier to join our Front End team! Our Cashiers are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and have amazing memories for produce codes! If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. This is a 16-24 hours/week position. Weekend & evening availability is required. SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS Experience with POS systems and cash handling. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer proficiency. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work calmly under pressure and resolve issues constructively. Knowledge of natural, organic, and local foods. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching). DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming environment. Accurately process sales transactions using POS and Interac systems. Perform cash float counts and closing procedures with attention to detail. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front end and cash counters. Provide product knowledge and assist customers with inquiries. Support other departments as needed. Ensure compliance with all internal and external health and safety regulations, as well as employee policies and procedures. Other duties as required. WHY WORK AT THE KOOTENAY CO-OP?
