Due to increasing veterinary student numbers and growth within our clinical teaching programmes, we're expanding our dedicated Anaesthesia Service and looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technologist to join the team. Working alongside specialist anaesthetists, residents, and experienced anaesthesia nurses, you'll be involved in everything from routine procedures to complex referral and emergency cases, while helping teach the next generation of veterinarians. This is a permanent position working full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with eventual inclusion on the on-call roster. This position has an anticipated start date of early October 2026. Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the role Join a specialist-led team where you'll expand your anaesthesia expertise, work across a wide range of cases, and help shape the next generation of veterinary professionals. In this role you will have: dedicated anaesthesia service with specialist support exposure to advanced anaesthesia techniques including ventilators, arterial lines, nerve blocks and blood gas analysis involvement in CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery opportunities to work across Companion Animal and dabble in Equine services an active role in teaching and supporting veterinary students exceptional professional development opportunities. Mou | About you We are looking for someone who: Holds a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, or equivalent. Has at least 2 years' companion animal clinical experience (consideration to new graduates will be given). Is passionate about patient care and lifelong learning.
