Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Sport & Exercise (Motor Learning and Control) Manawatū /Palmerston North | 1.0 FTE | Ongoing To facilitate the growth of our programmes Massey University's - Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa - School of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition is seeking an innovative and engaged Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with expertise in Motor Learning and Control. The School (ranked in the top 150 in the World) is one of New Zealand's most innovative, research and practice-led academic groups encompassing exercise science; sport development, physical education; and human nutrition & dietetics. The School delivers excellence in research, teaching and professional practice and this multi-disciplinary approach enables us to be a key influencer on human health and physical development throughout the lifecycle. To further its pursuit of excellence the School is working towards ESSA accreditation for its Exercise Science specialization and seeks applicants that can support this exciting development. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the School's teaching and learning, and research outcomes, for the Bachelor of Sport & Exercise (BSpEx) undergraduate and BHlthSci (Sport & Exercise) postgraduate qualifications. The position is a permanent ongoing role, 1.0FTE (nominally 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) based on our Manawatū (Palmerston North) campus and commences in January 2027. Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Teaching and Learning: Contribute to the teaching and assessment of courses within the Bachelor of Sport & Exercise. Support the development of the ESSA Accredited Exercise Scientist pathway. Cultural Safety: Strengthen Sport & Exercise education and practice by including Te Ao Māori, mātauranga Māori, tikanga, and cultural safety within courses and programmes. Research: Contribute to successful grant applications and a vibrant research culture. Supervise postgraduate research activity. This position falls within a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer salary range. The agreed salary will consider the candidate's qualifications and experience.
