About The Opportunity Do you enjoy spotting what doesn’t add up, tracing transactions and getting accounts back where they should be? This established, growing New Zealand organisation is looking for an Accounts Reconciliation Officer to join its Christchurch team for a six-month fixed-term project. You’ll take ownership of investigating historical payment issues and correcting member and group accounts. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working through the detail, solving discrepancies and seeing a reconciliation through from start to finish. Investigate historical payment allocation issues and account discrepancies Reconcile payments, balances and arrears across complex accounts Identify missing, incorrect, underpaid or overpaid transactions Document your findings and maintain a clear, accurate audit trail Complete approved adjustments and help bring accounts back into balance What You’ll Bring What matters most is that you understand transactional accounts, know your way around a reconciliation and are naturally curious when something doesn’t look right. Hands-on reconciliation experience within AR, billing or finance administration Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with financial data Strong investigation skills and an eye for spotting inconsistencies The ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a wider team A team player with a positive, practical attitude and willingness to learn new systems What’s On Offer Six-month fixed-term contract with an ASAP start Christchurch CBD location and a 37.5-hour working week Some flexibility around starting and finishing times Ownership of a clearly defined reconciliation project Support and training from an experienced, welcoming team Join a genuinely people-first organisation with a warm, supportive culture where employees are valued and encouraged to thrive.
