Stand at the stern of the canoe and feel the spray of the future biting at your face Mō te tūnga | About the role As part of the Integrity and Conduct Group, The National Integrity Unit (NIU) undertakes specialist investigations into criminal behaviour, corruption and related employment matters involving Police staff that fit within the NIU's scope and purpose, and is a leading voice in the prevention of corruption and insider threats. The NIU seeks a file manager to join team based in Wellington or Auckland. As a file manager you will support and enhance our investigations provide specialist support to Integrity Investigators to enable fact-finding and investigative activities in criminal investigations. You will use your skills, knowledge, tradecraft, support team development, and foster a positive and productive team culture. While technical skills are important to us, team fit is just as important for this role. You will be working in an open-plan, collaborative environment with a diverse range of individuals. Use strong written and verbal communication skills to provide a high standard of written reports and clear and concise verbal briefings to a wide range of audiences Develop and maintain a wide variety of positive working relationships, both internally and externally Complete initial and additional criminal disclosure of disclosable material to Crown and Defence lawyers Contribute to a high performing team Support the file management of NIU investigations Support the NIU data cell in file and data management The highest commitment to integrity and discretion He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring Desire to be a part of a high performing team and who will take real pride in completing work to the highest standard. Ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail Experience with preparation of prosecution files and experience working with the Criminal Disclosure Act and Evidence Act would be a huge advantage. A thorough understanding of the Investigation Management Too (IMT) Experience in handling sensitive/covert material Experience in a wide range of operational policing duties with knowledge and ability to investigate, engage, direct, and motivate staff.
