About the Role As a Relief Elective Booking Coordinator, you’ll provide essential support across both the Outpatient and Surgical Elective Booking teams, stepping into roles as needed to ensure smooth, accurate and timely scheduling for patients. You’ll be responsible for maintaining waiting lists, processing referrals, coordinating theatre and clinic bookings, and supporting outsourced elective procedures when required. This is a varied, fastpaced administrative role where attention to detail, communication and customer service really matter. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, patients, whānau and service managers to ensure bookings are completed efficiently, data quality is maintained, and service targets are met. Your work helps optimise clinic and theatre utilisation, reduces delays, and supports equitable access to specialist care. You will have: Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of people. Strong data entry and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). A positive, solutionsfocused attitude and willingness to help. Ability to build effective working relationships and work as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability to move between tasks and services as needed. Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable service delivery. Desired Previous booking or scheduling experience. Experience with the ECA patient management system. Experience in the health sector or knowledge of elective services processes.
