Fire Protection Tester

Argus Fire Protection is a well-known New Zealand company with over 40 years of experience in the fire protection industry. The company covers all aspects of fire protection, including fire system design, installation, testing, servicing, and ongoing maintenance. We currently have a vacancy for a Fire Protection Tester, primarily servicing the Rotorua and Taupo areas. Applicants based elsewhere in the wider Bay of Plenty are also welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems across a range of commercial and industrial sites. Other Responsibilities Within This Role Will Include Carrying out scheduled inspections and testing of fire protection systems. Identifying defects and compliance issues during testing. Completing accurate testing records and reports. Providing technical information and advice to customers where required. Ensuring work complies with relevant New Zealand Standards, company procedures, and health and safety requirements. Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers. Identifying opportunities for additional repairs, maintenance, and fire protection services. Working closely with our service, compliance, and administration teams to ensure testing requirements are completed on time. Candidates Should Have Experience in fire protection testing, servicing, or a related fire protection role. A good understanding of relevant New Zealand fire protection Standards and compliance requirements. Experience in testing fire protection systems and equipment. A high standard of Health & Safety, workmanship, and professional conduct. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Good computer literacy. Excellent record-keeping and report compilation skills. The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively. A current New Zealand driver's licence. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the fire protection industry and a good understanding of fire system testing and compliance requirements. Relevant fire protection qualifications or Fire and Emergency New Zealand-approved tester qualifications would be an advantage. We are also interested in hearing from experienced industry candidates who are working towards further qualifications. You will need to be organised, reliable, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate effectively with customers and other members of the Argus team.
