This is a rare opportunity to join a large, nationally recognised institution to provide national leadership of staff coordination and process improvements across the organisation. Following a recent organisational review, the organisation has created a new Workforce Planning Lead position to bring greater consistency, oversight, and forward planning to workforce deployment across the country. With a workforce that supports thousands of staff located throughout New Zealand, this role will play a critical part in shaping how staffing capability is planned, allocated, and managed into the future. This is a two-year fixed term engagement, with genuine influence across senior leadership, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to drive meaningful operational improvement while helping establish a more sustainable and data-driven workforce planning function. About The Role Reporting to a senior executive leader, this role sits at the centre of workforce planning and resource allocation activities across the organisation. You will develop a national view of staffing capability, demand, workforce pressures and future requirements, helping leaders make informed decisions about how resources are allocated. The role combines workforce planning, operational leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex organisational challenges. Key Responsibilities Include Leading workforce planning and national resource allocation activities Developing insights and recommendations that inform staffing decisions Identifying workforce gaps, risks, workload pressures and future needs Building reporting frameworks that improve visibility and decision making Improving staffing systems, processes, workflows and tools Partnering with senior leaders across operational, people and finance functions Supporting organisational change initiatives and workforce model development Coaching and supporting a small staffing coordination function About You This role will suit someone who enjoys tackling complex problems, working through ambiguity, and bringing structure to environments that are still evolving.
