About The Team Our Integrated Planning group ensures the safe, reliable and cost-effective performance of Transpower’s grid assets through long-term planning and analysis. The group develops 15+ year workplans that guide investment and delivery, incorporating whole-of-lifecycle costing and risk-based decision-making. Within Integrated Planning, the Portfolio Performance team provides performance insights and visibility across Transpower’s asset, maintenance, resilience, and sustainability portfolios. The team supports Portfolio Owners and Portfolio Leads to assess delivery, understand outcomes across the asset lifecycle, and make informed decisions through portfolio analysis and Grid Development performance reporting. The opportunity – based in Wellington or Christchurch As a Senior Portfolio Performance Advisor, you'll turn complex data into clear advice that helps leaders make confident decisions about New Zealand's electricity grid. You'll provide visibility of delivery, risk, value and outcomes across Transpower's asset, maintenance, resilience and sustainability portfolios, supporting better investment decisions and long-term grid performance. You'll identify risks, opportunities and trends, show how delivery is tracking against regulatory period objectives, and provide early warning where plans or priorities may need to change. Drawing on your asset management expertise, you'll contribute to maintenance prioritisation, regulatory submissions, budgeting and improvement initiatives. Your ability to connect information, people and outcomes will directly support the National Grid. You will: Lead portfolio performance reporting across asset, maintenance, resilience and sustainability portfolios. Analyse delivery, cost, risk, service and asset performance information to identify issues and opportunities. Advise Portfolio Owners and Leads on where plans, priorities or investment settings may need to change. Support regulatory, budgeting, assurance and improvement activities with clear analysis and evidence-based recommendations. Improve reporting frameworks, data quality, measures and governance so leaders have reliable information for decision-making. What will you bring? Asset management knowledge, sound commercial judgement and the ability to turn complex portfolio information into clear, useful insights. You’ll also bring the confidence to collaborate across technical, delivery and corporate teams, building alignment without relying on positional authority. Your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate: asset management experience, ideally in infrastructure, utilities, energy, telco or another asset-intensive environment, supported by a relevant technical and/or asset management qualification sound knowledge of asset management principles and techniques, including risk-based decision making, whole-of-life asset management, asset health analysis, criticality assessment and investment prioritisation analytical and reporting capability, including experience developing frameworks, measures and data sets that provide meaningful portfolio insights ability to translate cost, risk, service, delivery and asset performance information into actionable insights, ideally using tools such as Power BI, Python, Maximo or similar platforms strong commercial acuity, risk-based decision-making capability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences Join us at Transpower!
