Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 28/01/2027, End Date: 16/12/2026 (Study Leave) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts Chertsey School is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate New Zealand registered teacher to join our team in a full-time fixed-term position for the 2027 school year. This position is available due to an approved one-year study leave. Chertsey School is a vibrant rural Year 0–6 primary school located just 15 minutes from Ashburton. We are looking for a teacher who: Holds current New Zealand teacher registration and a current practising certificate. Is an experienced classroom practitioner. Is confident and effective teaching in a multi-year level classroom. Builds strong, positive relationships with students, whānau and colleagues. Delivers engaging, high-quality teaching and learning programmes. Has excellent classroom management and communication skills. Demonstrates a commitment to inclusive education and is confident meeting the diverse learning needs of all students. Is collaborative, reflective and committed to ongoing professional growth. Is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, camps, sports, cultural opportunities and school events. Will make a positive contribution to our close-knit school community.
