Job Description

Reporting to the Manager - Risk and Continuous Improvement, you will play a key role in supporting and ensuring a consistent application of Council's Risk Management Framework and approach across the organisation. You will support the day-to-day risk management activities, understand and analyse risks to enable reporting on key themes and provide a view on the appropriateness of controls and mitigation implemented. Our friendly Risk and Continuous Improvement team are seeking a Risk and Audit Specialist. The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Key responsibilities for this role include: Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of Council's Risk Management Framework. Facilitating risk identification, assessment, treatment and reporting activities across the organisation. Maintaining and reviewing strategic and operational risk registers. Delivering high quality risk management training in a variety of settings including 1:1, group workshops and presentations. Contributing to the development and review of risk content within key strategic/operational documents and plans. Producing reports and performance indicators for use internally, including reporting for the Risk and Assurance Committee. Conducting internal audits and providing practical recommendations to improve processes and controls. Supporting investigations, corrective action planning and assurance activities. What you will bring: 6-8 years' experience in enterprise and operational risk management, auditing, or a related discipline A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in risk management, auditing or a related field Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills The ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience influencing, coaching and supporting managers and teams A customer-focused, solutions-oriented approach Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly Current Full Class 1 New Zealand Drivers Licence What we offer: Flexible working environment Career progression and training/development opportunities Positive focus of employee health and well-being: Workstation assessments, free flu vaccines, EAP services, 50% off eye exams, discounted gym memberships etc Kiwisaver and Superannuation Schemes Access to sick leave from day one of employment Appointment time leave: Up to 2 hours for important appointments eg.
