Risk and Audit Specialist

Reporting to the Manager - Risk and Continuous Improvement, you will play a key role in supporting and ensuring a consistent application of Council's Risk Management Framework and approach across the organisation. You will support the day-to-day risk management activities, understand and analyse risks to enable reporting on key themes and provide a view on the appropriateness of controls and mitigation implemented. Our friendly Risk and Continuous Improvement team are seeking a Risk and Audit Specialist. The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Key responsibilities for this role include: Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of Council's Risk Management Framework. Facilitating risk identification, assessment, treatment and reporting activities across the organisation. Maintaining and reviewing strategic and operational risk registers. Delivering high quality risk management training in a variety of settings including 1:1, group workshops and presentations. Contributing to the development and review of risk content within key strategic/operational documents and plans. Producing reports and performance indicators for use internally, including reporting for the Risk and Assurance Committee. Conducting internal audits and providing practical recommendations to improve processes and controls. Supporting investigations, corrective action planning and assurance activities.
