Job Description

Lead complex financial crime risk assessments and escalations while helping strengthen ASB’s financial crime risk culture. Mō te tūranga | About the role As our Financial Crime Compliance Manager, you will provide second-line oversight of key financial crime risks across ASB by leading risk assessment activities and managing complex financial crime escalations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Crime Escalations & Oversight, you will: Lead and support on financial crime risk assessments including Enterprise Wide and product and channel risk assessments Act as a subject matter expert for sanctions, politically exposed person, and correspondent banking escalations Support key regulatory deliverables, including AML/CFT annual reporting Embed policy, standards and guidance within financial crime escalation processes Monitor escalation volumes, trends and insights Partner with stakeholders across ASB’s three lines of accountability Stay connected to regulatory, international and industry developments Coach and support team members to build capability and performance You will bring strong financial crime expertise, sound judgement and the confidence to constructively challenge stakeholders. We are looking for: At least five years’ experience within financial services Strong knowledge of financial crime risks, including sanctions, and relevant financial services legislation Experience in operational or compliance risk management Business risk advisory or assurance experience Working knowledge of banking products and systems Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences Confidence building relationships, influencing and challenging stakeholders A tertiary qualification in a commercial, legal or risk discipline is preferred This is an opportunity to contribute to important financial crime risk activities; influence how complex escalations are managed and help strengthen a culture of compliance across ASB.
