About the role
This is a handson, fastpaced role based at Queens Wharf, working as part of a small, tightknit operations team. This is a permanent fulltime opportunity and an excellent entry point into a department which has an immediate and tangible commercial impact.
As a Shore Services Assistant, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet operating efficiently. You'll support vessels with freight, stock, and essential services, ensuring everything is in the right place, at the right time. This role suits someone who enjoys taking ownership, working to deadlines, and understanding how their work impacts the daily operations and the financial performance of the business.
This is a permanent part-time opportunity.
What you'll be doing
- Managing food and beverage stock across the fleet, including ordering, restocking, organisation, and stock control.
- Maintaining organised, efficient storage areas that support smooth daily operations.
- Communicating closely with logistics, operations and vessel crews to support scheduling, demand changes, and service requirements.
- Coordinating freight to and from Waiheke, including physical handling, deliveries, and prioritisation of urgent requirements.
- Refuelling vessels and supporting pumpout scheduling to meet operational timelines.
- Handling lost property and responding to customer enquiries with professionalism.
- Supporting uniform distribution and general administration tasks.
This is a varied and active role with a strong mix of physical work, coordination, and problemsolving. You'll be on your feet, working both indoors and outdoors, in an environment where accuracy, efficiency, and reliability matter.
Hours of work
- Rotating roster including weekdays, weekends and public holidays
- Permanent part-time position
- Guaranteed 16 hours per week
- Shifts start between 4:30am - 9:00am and finish at 6pm
About you
- Switched-on and organised with strong time management skills and a sense of urgency.
- Takes pride in running things efficiently and spotting opportunities to improve how work is done.
- F&B commercial acumen, with attention to par levels, sell-through rates and wastage.
- Strong communication skills, both inter-department and customer-facing.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced, operational environment where priorities can change.
- Physically fit and confident lifting and moving stock.
- Enjoys a mix of practical work and coordination responsibilities.
- Reliable and flexible, able to work a rotating roster including early starts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Looking for structured shifts, consistent hours, and no late nights or split shifts.

Experience in freight, warehousing, stock handling, or logistics is beneficial but not essential.
