Associate SENCO - Primary School

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Learning Support, this role is responsible for supporting the coordination of inclusive learning support practices across the Primary School. Working collaboratively with teachers, whanau and external agencies, you will help ensure students with diverse learning and behavioural needs are well supported to experience success and belonging in our school community.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinating support and interventions for students with identified learning and/or behavioural needs.
- Collaborating with teachers, whanau, and external agencies to develop and implement effective support strategies.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other learning plans.
- Maintaining accurate student records and supporting effective transitions into, through, and beyond the Primary School.
- Promoting inclusive practices and contributing to a culture where all learners are supported to thrive.
The successful applicant will:
- Be a New Zealand registered teacher with a current practising certificate.
- Have experience supporting students with diverse learning, behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive education and equitable outcomes for all learners.
- Have excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong organisational, administration, and record-keeping skills.
- Be able to work collaboratively with teachers, whanau, and external specialists to achieve positive outcomes for students.
