This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the operation and monitoring of ANZCO's environmental and wastewater systems while helping ensure compliance and environmental sustainability across our Canterbury site. About the Role As an Environmental & Wastewater Technician, you'll be involved in environmental monitoring, wastewater treatment operations, sampling, testing, and process improvement activities. No two days are the same, with a mix of fieldwork, plant operation, and laboratory testing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a practical approach who wants to learn skillsin the environmental sector. Key Responsibilities Conduct groundwater, water, and wastewater sampling. Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems and associated. Carry out routine environmental testing and monitoring. Complete system inspections and basic maintenance activities. Assist with environmental incidents and report issues promptly. Monitor waste disposal and environmental compliance activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives across environmental operations. What We're Looking For This is an entry‑level role in wastewater operations. Demonstrated technology and digital skills. We are looking for someone who is motivated, takes initiative, and has a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must demonstrate they are comfortable following established procedures, accurately collecting, and recording data, and working within strict environmental and compliance requirements. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards. A full Class 1 Driver Licence is required. W and F endorsements are advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided.
