Employment Opportunities – 2026/27 Summer Season Auckland Sea Kayaks operates within one of New Zealand’s most diverse sea kayaking environments — the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park / Tīkapa Moana / Te Moananui-ā-Toi — and holds Department of Conservation concessions across the Auckland region and Northland. We’re recognised leaders in marine-based tourism and educational journeys, and we’re looking for a passionate Sea Kayak Guide to join our team this summer. We offer a wide range of experiences, from hourly rentals and instructional courses to guided day tours and multi-day youth development journeys. This role is to work with our marine based tourism clients predominantly day and evening tours with some scope for marine based education for the right candidate. Auckland Sea Kayaks was founded on a passion for the outdoors, kayaking expertise, and a commitment to conservation. Our team delivers genuine, safe, and inspiring marine-based experiences, and we’re now looking for guides who share our enthusiasm for education and adventure. This seasonal role starts on 11 November 2025 . Applicants must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand, as we are unable to obtain visas in time for this period. Respect for cultural diversity, strong communication skills, and good spoken English. A clean full driver’s licence and the ability to drive with a trailer (no additional licence required in New Zealand). A minimum of a two-year Outdoor Leadership or Adventure Tourism qualification, or equivalent industry experience. Ideally hold an NZOIA Sea Kayak qualification or international equivalent, or be able to demonstrate equivalent practical skills, including: Confident sea kayak manoeuvring Reliable self-rescue Consistent buddy rescue of a tandem kayak Familiarity with tow belt systems A practical skills assessment will be part of the onboarding process.
