Construction Labourers Wanted – Opportunities with Tradestaff Are you an experienced Construction Labourer looking for your next opportunity in Otago? Tradestaff has a variety of Construction Labourer opportunities available across Otago. Our clients operate across residential, commercial and infrastructure construction projects, so no two days are the same. Depending on client requirements, you may be working on site preparation, general construction labouring, trade assistance, demolition, concrete work, material handling, drainage or other construction activities. About the role: You’ll be working on a variety of construction projects throughout Otago, undertaking a broad range of routine construction labouring and trade-assist duties. Day-to-day tasks may include: Site preparation, clean-up and general labouring duties. Loading, unloading, transporting and positioning construction materials, tools and equipment. Assisting builders, carpenters, concreters, bricklayers, roofers, plumbers, electricians and other tradespeople with construction activities. Assisting with framing, cladding, roofing, formwork, demolition, repairs and general construction work. Carrying out digging, backfilling, levelling and other manual construction activities. Safely using hand tools, power tools and construction equipment appropriate to the assigned work. Maintaining clean, safe and organised worksites. Following all workplace health and safety requirements and site procedures. Where appropriately trained, competent, licensed and authorised, using construction plant or equipment relevant to the assigned worksite where required for a particular assignment. Requirements: A minimum of 6 months' relevant experience in construction, civil construction, infrastructure or other closely related physically demanding work environments; or a relevant construction qualification. Ability to safely use hand and power tools relevant to the assigned work. Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual construction labouring duties. Strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a construction team. Ideally, you will be or have: A current New Zealand or overseas driver's licence (preferred). Reliable transport. At least two contactable work references. Additional licences, endorsements or industry tickets (such as Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR), Forklift, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Working at Heights or Confined Spaces) are advantageous but not essential. Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. The legal right to work in New Zealand or be eligible to obtain the appropriate work visa. Benefits: $28-$32 per hour (depending on experience) Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Weekly pay. PPE provided.
