About the Role We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join ourCoronary Care Unit team. We are a small, highly skilled nursing team committedto delivering fast paced acute cardiology care. Life threatening cardiac rhythms Acute heart failure Acute myocardial infarction Specialised procedures- for example pericardiocentesis, cardioversions. Monitoring of ward patients on telemetry You will work closely with our senior nursing team to obtainyour Coronary Care Competency over your first two years. About the Service Our Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a 9 bedded specialised unitwhere our patients present with a number of life-threatening cardiac eventsthat require close observation, continuous cardiac monitoring and often urgentinterventions. The nursing team monitors 21 telemetry monitors across ourcardiology wards. About You We are looking for a Registered Nurse who has acutecardiology experience or is keen to develop their skills in this specialisedarea of nursing. 2+ years experience in Acute Cardiology and/or Coronary Care is preferred Ability to work all shifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other health professionals Sound patient assessment skills Ability to work well under pressure Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) We will provide a comprehensive orientation package in asupportive environment to the successful candidate.
