Area Manager

HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance. We're looking for a senior leader to step into the Area Manager role to lead and drive the regional Structures business. Reporting to the National Manager Structures, you'll lead our people, build strong client relationships, and deliver safe, profitable project outcomes while identifying opportunities for future growth. Based in Napier / Lower North Island, the ideal candidate will be experienced in leading people, building strong relationships, and finding better ways of doing things. Key Responsibilities Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Leading and supporting teams to deliver safe, high-quality and profitable project outcomes Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and the wider HEB business Driving sustainable business growth through client engagement, market awareness and the pursuit of new work opportunities Overseeing the operational and commercial performance of projects across your area Coaching and developing people to build capability and support future growth Supporting the development and delivery of high-quality tenders and bids Ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and set up for success from commencement through to completion Identifying and implementing smarter ways of working to improve productivity, performance and outcomes Championing HEB's commitment to health, safety, quality and sustainability through visible leadership Working collaboratively across HEB to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and the business About You You’ll bring: Strong experience in heavy civil construction At least 5 years' experience in a leadership role, with a proven ability to lead, develop and support high-performing teams At least 5 years' experience in commercial management, with strong financial and business acumen The ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and teams A hands-on leadership style and a passion for developing people Initiative, drive and a positive attitude What we offer At HEB, you’re not just joining a team, you’re joining a workplace that genuinely looks out for you.
