Learning Support Coordinator

Resource teacher, General, Learning Support Coordinator. English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts. Onekawa School is looking to employ a learning support coordinator (LSC) at 0.7 starting in term 1, 2027. The LSC is responsible for coordinating and supporting inclusive education practices across the school. The role works closely with students, teachers, whānau, school leadership, and external agencies to identify learning needs, develop appropriate support strategies, and ensure students have equitable opportunities to achieve their educational goals. Key responsibilities: Coordinate learning support for students with additional learning, behavioural, social, emotional, or developmental needs. Develop, coordinate, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other learning support plans. A focus on working with tamariki with oral language needs. Structured Literacy Support- supporting interventions across the school An interest in leading gifted and talented groups. Coordinate referrals and communication with external specialists and agencies, where appropriate. Contribute to school-wide planning, policies, and initiatives relating to inclusion and learning support. Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community agencies.
